    Making Hard Choices

Buying a new truck can be exciting and very stressful all at the same time. Making choices about which truck will work best for the type of business you do, plus what options you prefer for appearance and comfort, are just a few of the hundreds of decisions to think about when buying your next truck. I just sold my ‘05 KW and bought a 2010 Pete 389 (see pic) in an effort to comply with California’s ridiculous emissions regulations. I was fortunate to be led to a really nice truck that was well-kept by its previous owner, Tim, and originally built by Clint Moore. In fact, Clint even featured it in his “Clint’s Creations” article in the magazine back in February of 2010! Meanwhile, my friend Kevin is still in the process of specing-out his own truck. Knowing that he prefers long-hooded flattop rigs with retro paint schemes, I took it upon myself to draw up this rendering of what I think Kevin should order. I drew this picture on 22” x 28” poster paper using colored pencil, regular lead pencil and Sharpie markers. Kevin, I know you weren’t aware of this in advance, but I hope you like the idea, and that you’ll consider it when you order your truck. For anyone else considering a new (or good used) truck, I highly recommend calling Clint Moore at K.C. Peterbilt (913-484-7768) and talking over your hopes and desires for what your next truck will be. Clint is very good at hearing and visualizing what you’re trying to find. After all, he is the one who led me to my new truck, which is exactly what I was looking for. I hope you like the drawing I did as a surprise for Kevin, and accept it in place of a poem for this month. Once in a while, I just like to doodle!

Alicia puts up with Trevor’s love affair with trucks and also shares his outspoken devotion to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
