IT'S ALL IN THE FAMILY

This month’s “Readers And Their Rigs” comes to us from the Abrahamian Family - brothers David, Mike and Harry and their dad Pete. Harry’s KW T800 transfer dump, as you may recall, was featured on our April 2000 cover. Painted black and yellow with dramatic graphics, Harry’s truck turns a lot of heads. For this reason, Harry’s dad Pete loves to drive the truck. He enjoys the fact that everyone waves at him, smiles and gives him the “thumbs up” sign. Pete, who happens to be 65 years young, decided he wanted his son to build him a flashy truck too. They bought a 1994 Kenworth T800 tractor and sent it to Western Components in San Diego, California, where they built the box and added an extra axle to the rear end. This extra air-operated axle allows Pete to haul three more tons. The truck features a 410 Cummins with a 3-speed Jake brake, a 10-speed tranny and twelve polished aluminum wheels. Harry’s other brother Mike added the final touch - a custom flamed paint job done in colors inspired by the World Champion NBA Lakers - yellow and purple. What a great way to celebrate another winning season for Los Angeles. It took Harry and Mike about three months to build the truck, which they just finished a month ago. Pete hauls loads of asphalt for Blue Diamond out of Sun Valley every day in his eye-catching new truck. He says it makes him feel young again! We’d like to say thanks to David for taking the time to write a letter and send in some great photos. To see this truck in all its slender (full color), check it out on our website at www.tenfourmagazine.com.
