In the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, a flurry of “memorial” trucks have hit the road to show unity and remembrance for the events of that day. Two great examples are the truck on our cover and this rig, shown below, owned by Rick & Linda Lindeman of Lindeman Lines in Racine, Wisconsin. Rick & Linda purchased the truck in September of 2001 and decided to do something special to it. Driven by Chris Warnock (30), this red 2002 Pete 379 features a stunning mural depicting a waving American flag and the Statue of Liberty standing tall. Besides the paint and some extra pieces of chrome, the truck is pretty much stock, equipped with a 475 Cat and an 18-speed transmission. Chris loves the fact that he gets to drive it. He gets positive comments all the time. People are always stopping him to take a picture or get a better look. In fact, the Lindeman’s were just notified that this truck won a spot on B.F. Goodrich’s 2003 “Cool Rigs” calendar. For Rick & Linda it’s simply a matter of pride. Twenty years ago, when they started the company, they vowed never to make a driver operate a rig that they themselves wouldn’t be proud to run.

Today they have five trucks, each with a custom paint job. All of the Lindeman rigs were painted by artist Jeff Vlieger of Franksville, Wisconsin. “Seuss on the Loose” is one of their other rigs which features a Dr. Seuss theme. The Lindeman’s enjoy taking this truck to schools and libraries and reading Dr. Seuss books to kids. Other trucks in the fleet include one with an unusual lightning bolt theme, another with a unique flame theme, and Rick’s truck (he still drives) which was painted to look like granite rock. Chris, who has been driving for about six years, the last 2 1/2 with Lindeman, hopes that Americans won’t forget what happened and let their guard down. Hopefully, this truck will help remind them that we live in the greatest country in the world and to never take that for granted. It is an incredible tribute to the red, white and blue.
