NO BIG COMMITMENT - JUST FUN

Last April, Bob Hitchcock of Cherokee Truck Parts pulled off one of the biggest and best truck shows of the year. This year, he vows to make the 2nd Annual “Coolest Trucks” show even better than the first. Hosted by Bob in the parking lot of his store in Stockton, California, this show begins Friday night, May 3, with a sunset light show that will continue through about 11:00 PM. Truckers are welcome to pull in on Friday night and participate in the light show or just come over on Saturday morning. The truck show begins at 8:30 AM on Saturday and will include food, raffle prizes, vendor booths, music and fun. Bob encourages entrants to, “Wash their truck, park it, and have fun!” The amount of preparation you put into your truck is up to you, but if you don’t want the engine judged, don’t open your hood. And if you don’t want your interior noted, leave the doors shut. Judging will consist of a 10-foot away walk around of each truck - no slide rules or magnifying glasses here - your truck will be judged on its overall appearance and that’s it. This helps take the pressure off the competitors so they can spend less time cleaning and more time playing. All trucks will be entered in one of three basic classes: 2-axle conventional, 3-axle conventional and cabovers (and there are a lot of nice cabovers in that neck of the woods). Last year, Ricky Torres of Sandvik Trucking and his dark maroon Pete “Delirious Dezire” took Best of Show. First place in the cabover class went to Bob Rocha from Escalon, CA. First place in the 2-axle class was awarded to Louie Elder out of Campo, CA. Top honors in the 3-axle class went to Fred Rivera of Stockton, CA. So join 10-4 as we head north for some fun on May 3-4.
