Cole Williams of Cambridge City, Indiana, bought this 1955 unrestored Hendrickson in northern Indiana when he went truck hunting with his friend Bob Newton. Bob has always loved Hendricksons, and has gotten Cole hooked on them, too. They saw the truck advertised for sale and decided to take a look at it. Of course, they ended up bringing it home! The Hendrickson has held down several different trucking jobs during its lifetime. It was originally a fire truck when new, and then served as a county highway truck for a while before it became a farm truck. It is powered by an International Red Diamond engine with a five-speed overdrive main transmission and a two-speed auxiliary. The truck has two drive shafts \u2013 one to the front and one to the back \u2013 which was how you got your power divider back then. It is also equipped with a 17-foot bed and hoist and, these days, earns its keep hauling rocks and dirt around Cole\u2019s farm. For now, the Hendrickson has no real interior, it\u2019s just a basic work truck, but Cole might like to restore it one day. Cole has already restored an International Emeryville, and recently bought an unrestored 1969 Kenworth cabover. He\u2019d like to get it back in service to haul his grain trailer.
