I\u2019ve been upon it plenty.
The windows of my soul have seen,
For years upwards of twenty.<\/p>
I know the towns and cities.
I know the mountaintops out west,
And deserts, painted pretty.<\/p>
The road stretches out before me.
The poles that pass on either side,
Just stand there and ignore me.<\/p>
Another rig approaches.
I crest the ridge… the CB skips,
A shout from Nacogdoches.<\/p>
A view that\u2019s unfamiliar.
I\u2019ve seen it all before I know,
So I\u2019d settle for peculiar.<\/p>
The music keeps a rhythm.
The highway lines keep flyin\u2019 by,
And time keeps flyin\u2019 with \u2018em.<\/p>
And some roads are all frozen.
It ain\u2019t all good but it ain\u2019t all bad,
It\u2019s just the life I\u2019ve chosen.<\/p>
But that ain\u2019t exactly true.
When I look ahead and look around,
