It has been a very rough year.  With a pandemic hanging over our heads, the controversial election, and a divided country with such intense anger and emotions, it is amazing we are still sane.  But we are, so now it is time to bring back a more positive outlook.  What is so positive you ask?  We know that a vaccine is coming closer to completion.  Once it is approved, life will become more bearable, and we will be able to see more family and friends without fear.  Can you believe that since 2016, our news cycles have been politically driven?  There has been name calling, wild accusations, and our government parties are at each other\u2019s throats.  You want to stay sane?  Go \u201ccold turkey\u201d and just walk away.  Stop listening constantly to the news.  It will not be easy at first, but if enough of us turn our backs and stop listening, the ratings will drop, and they may begin to see the light that we are tired of all this.  The next and most important step is to turn your focus to your family, especially the elder and younger family members.  Both of these groups, from old to young, have been sequestered from society since March.  We are all social creatures, and we are all blessed with a family.  It is time to thank the Lord for them.  We all fit together \u2013 each gives the other encouragement and enjoyment.  The little ones have been through much, and they see your moods and fears but do not understand the total picture.  They look to you for love and support, and they look to you for guidance \u2013 no matter how young.  So, reinforce the positive and celebrate the Holiday Season.  You may not be able to get the expensive gifts, but don\u2019t overlook the most precious gifts of all \u2013 love and time.  Fill your heart with the gift of the Lord.  Share the stories and teach your faith to the family.  Start your family on the right path.  Instead of being filled with anger and hatred, be filled with the love of God.  May you all have a blessed holiday and remember Proverbs 3:5-6: \u201cTrust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
