\"\"<\/a>This month\u2019s article is not only about one of Clint\u2019s latest cool \u201ccreations\u201d but also about an exciting new option that Clint\u2019s dealership, Kansas City Peterbilt, can now offer its customers – truck rental and leasing plans through PacLease. With all of life\u2019s uncertainties these days in regards to the economy, upcoming regulations and the new \u201cclean\u201d engines, truck renting and leasing has become a viable option.<\/p>\n

This month\u2019s feature truck belongs to Doug Peuser of Cutting Edge Trucking in Bucyrus, KS. Doug\u2019s operation currently runs 22 trucks that pull end dumps, grain hoppers and low boys. Clint first did business with Doug over 20 years ago when he sold him a 1984 Pete 359. Since then, Clint has sold Doug several more trucks and the two have become good friends.<\/p>\n

Doug recently contacted Clint about getting another truck but wasn\u2019t sure about the new stuff out there. Having just become an official PacLease \"\"<\/a>location, Doug decided to give leasing a try. Leasing can offer all sorts of new options, including plans for routine maintenance, major and minor repairs, plates and permits, and even replacement trucks – all at a fixed cost.<\/p>\n

The truck Doug bought, the one you see here, was a \u201clot truck\u201d that Clint had ordered and had sitting on the lot. The truck is a 2012 Pete 389 with a 36\u201d sleeper, a factory two-color paint scheme designed by Clint in Black Metallic and Convoy Gold, a 525 Cummins, an 18-speed transmission and a 264\u201d wheelbase. It also has Low AirLeaf suspension, full locking differentials and an air-ride car-hauler front axle.<\/p>\n

When Clint ordered the truck, he ordered it without a visor, figuring that whoever bought it would want to add a drop visor of some sort, but Doug wanted a stock visor, so Clint found one lying around the shop and installed it. They also installed five bullet lights on top of the cab, and then replaced the custom bumper it had with a standard tapered bumper so Doug wouldn\u2019t tear it up (they usually just add stuff when a truck comes in, but this one they removed stuff). After Doug took the truck home, the guys in his shop installed some full fenders to keep the back of the sleeper looking nice. This truck was built to work, but also to look good while doing it!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>With all the uncertainty and concerns about today\u2019s new urea-equipped trucks and extended warranty costs, leasing is becoming a popular option because it gives you fixed numbers. You can lease a truck for a year, and then, at the end, opt to buy it (or not). And, with a maintenance plan, if something goes wrong, it will be covered (unless it is caused by driver abuse).
