This will allow power to be applied to the pump during installation.<\/p>\n<p>First, select the best location in the firewall for running the wiring harness from the engine compartment to the cab. Use an existing hole in the firewall or drill a 7\/8\u201d hole in the firewall and install RS-2684 grommet for ease of installation and protection of wire harness.<\/p>\n<p>Then, route the red wire of the wire extension through the grommet in the firewall to the ignition or fuse panel. Locate a terminal that is hot when the key is in the ignition position. Use a test probe to identify the proper terminal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. PREP THE FASS SYSTEM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13765\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo02-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"MarHowTo02\" height=\"169\" width=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo02-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo02-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo02-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo02-195x110.jpg 195w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo02.jpg 1050w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Next, we will need to prep the FASS System. During this process, be careful not to bend or damage the draw tube. Remove the RED \u201cE\u201d plug and the RED \u201cT\u201d plug. Prepare 2 brass fittings by wrapping 4 rounds of thread tape on pipe fitting end only. Install 2 brass fittings into the \u201cE\u201d port and \u201cT\u201d port. Properly torque fittings.<\/p>\n<p>Then, install the BR-2001 bracket to the FASS System. Place the 3 spacers on the FASS and install bracket using 1\/4\u201d bolts. Properly torque bracket.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. INSTALL FUEL FILTERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-13766\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo03-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"MarHowTo03\" height=\"151\" width=\"272\"><\/a>Prior to installing the fuel filters, make sure to locate the loose O-ring that comes with the water separator and slide it around the fuel filter nipple.<\/p>\n<p>Next, apply grease or motor oil to O-rings located on the filters.<\/p>\n<p>Then, attach to system and tighten appropriately. Do not over tighten the fuel filters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. ASSEMBLE THE FUEL LINES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-13767\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo04-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"MarHowTo04\" height=\"138\" width=\"273\"><\/a>Grease the female portion of the fuel line, making sure to grease the inside of the fuel line and on the male portion of the 90 fitting. By hand, install the collar to the fuel line. Notice the collar is reverse thread. Do not over tighten the collar. This will ensure proper fitting installation.<\/p>\n<p>Now, install the 90 fitting. Properly torque.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. MEASURE THE PROPER LENGTH OF THE RETURN LINE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13768\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo05-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"MarHowTo05\" height=\"168\" width=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo05-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo05-600x336.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo05-1024x573.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo05-195x110.jpg 195w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo05.jpg 1050w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Run the fuel line through the engine compartment and loosely connect to the return line fitting on the FASS unit.<\/p>\n<p>Run the remaining line down the chassis and to the \u201cT\u201d on the top middle of the cross-member.<\/p>\n<p>Hold it in center of \u201cT\u201d and then mark that spot. Remove hose from truck. Cut the line in this spot using a chop saw.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. CUT THE FUEL LINE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13769\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo06-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"MarHowTo06\" height=\"169\" width=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo06-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo06-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo06-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo06-195x110.jpg 195w, https:\/\/www.tenfourmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/MarHowTo06.jpg 1050w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>It is CRITICAL that these lines be the same length \u2013 NO EXCEPTIONS!<\/p>\n<p>The distance from both the fuel tanks to the \u201cT\u201d and the double vent \u201cT\u201d may not be the same, so make the longest hose first. After cutting line, install it to insure adequate length, then remove and make ALL HOSES that same length.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Install the straight fitting of the return line to the \u201cT\u201d on top of the cross-member. Properly torque.<\/p>\n<p>Run the return line up through the engine compartment from underneath the truck and install 90 fitting to the return port on the FASS system. Properly torque.<\/p>\n<p>Install the original suction line from the fuel tank to the \u201cT\u201d port on the FASS. Properly torque.<\/p>\n<p>Install the original fuel pump line from the truck to the \u201cE\u201d port on the FASS. Properly torque.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.
