Joseph A. Pane of Moscow, PA is not a truck driver, but he loves old trucks. He found this 1974 Peterbilt 359 in Reillyville, NY, where the truck had been sitting at the home of its owner, Larry Hopkins. When Joseph bought it, the Peterbilt had a day cab and was painted turquoise and white. Joseph had his work cut out for him and started in on the sandblasting, but had the rest of the body work, including its new paint job, finished at a body shop. He bought a sleeper and installed it himself, then, with some help from his friends, completed the restoration. The Peterbilt has a 350 Cummins SB with a 13-speed transmission and Rockwell rears. The restoration included the interior of the cab, which now has an oak floor, and the interior of the sleeper, which now has oak walls and an oak ceiling. Joseph is a general contractor who thinks old trucks are great, and he is glad that he had the opportunity to bring this classic Peterbilt back to its former glory (maybe even better)!
