“If you have a close family you can overcome any roadblock.”
    Jarrod Russell of Fieldon, IL

FebSpritPic2This amazingly warm, optimistic and in so many ways perfect shot was taken last summer. After I took it, I decided to figure out who was the man behind the wheel and found Jarrod Russell of Fieldon, IL. As we endure yet another hard winter when trucks and truckers take a real pounding running bad roads, avoiding accidents and dealing with others that are in bad moods, here is what Jarrod had to say about surviving this mess: “I agree with you that winter sucks, but I have to say, my family gets me through it. I call home every night to my wife and daughters to see how their day went, and if I have had a rough day, those three voices always make it better. As far as breakdowns and stuff going wrong with the truck, I have my brother, who owns the truck I drive, along with nine others. He is always there for me and all his other drivers, any time of the day. Another thing that is pretty cool that not very many guys get the chance to do is running with my dad. Usually, if you see one of us, the other one is there, too. I have the privilege of running a lot with him. So, all in all, if you have a close family you can overcome any roadblock.” Keeping close with your family and friends is the true spirit of the American trucker, because we are all in it to win it – together!
