CONVOY FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
You Can Make a Difference

Ever wonder what you as a truck driver can do to make a difference? Here is your chance. For the last three years, Norm Schneiderhan, an officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in Orlando, Florida, has hosted a charity truck convoy benefiting Special Olympics. The first year (2001), Norm had one convoy in Florida with 97 trucks. The second year, the single convoy in Florida featured an incredible parade of 248 big rigs (the current record to date) and was eight miles long. Last year, Norm got the idea to run multiple convoys, in multiple states, at the same time. In addition to his convoy in Florida, there were also convoys in Iowa, Tennessee, Delaware and Missouri. This year, the momentous event will take place on September 18, 2004 in 27 states (and one in Canada)! With a few to choose from in California, we at 10-4 will be attending the Northern California convoy. Join us in Ripon, and then be one of the many trucks to takeover Highway 99 on the journey north to Stockton. Each truck pays a $100 entry fee which goes directly to the Special Olympics. Truckers and trucking companies bid for the coveted “lead truck” position, paying as much as $5,000. The people at Guinness World Records have been contacted and will be on hand to authenticate each event. Be a part of history and help challenged athletes realize their dream of competing in the Special Olympics. For more information about the Stockton convoy, call Jamie Tosio at 1-800-770-9401 Ext. 232.
