UPCOMING TRUCK SHOWS & EVENTS FOR 2011

We had a great time at all of the truck shows last year, but now it is time to start putting our calendars and schedules together for 2011.  Here is a list of upcoming truck shows and events that 10-4 Magazine is either planning on attending and/or promoting in 2011.  Mark these important dates down and don’t miss them.  We hope to see you at many of these events across the country.  Keep in mind, this list in no way represents every truck show out there.

MID-AMERICA TRUCKING SHOW*
March 31-April 2, Louisville, KY

The 40th annual Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, is the largest trucking show in the world!  MATS is famous for “opening” the truck show season, providing a forum for the introduction of the latest products the industry has to offer, and great entertainment.  This show also hosts the Paul K. 75 CHROME SHOP TRUCK SHOW
April 8-10, Wildwood, FL

SHRINERS COOL TRUCK SHOW*
May 6-7, Galt, CA

This fun show, held at the Galt Flea Market in Galt, California, is being hosted by Bob Hitchcock of Cherokee Truck Parts.  In addition to some of the “coolest” trucks west of the Mississippi, this show will feature a live auction of parts and accessories, a light show, vendors, food, live entertainment and more.  All of the proceeds will go to Shriners Hospitals for Children.  For more info, call Bob at (209) 462-3694 or visit www.cherokeetruckparts.com.

ATHS NATIONAL SHOW & CONVENTION
May 26-28, South Bend, IN

Every year, the members of the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) gather for a national show and convention, and every year it is huge!  This year, the event is being held at the St. Joseph County 4-H Fairgrounds in South Bend, Indiana.  This is the single largest antique truck exhibition of the year (every year), sometimes featuring over 1,000 trucks.  For more details, contact the ATHS at (816) 891-9900 or visit them online at www.aths.org.

CENTRAL VALLEY COMMERCIAL TRUCK SHOW*
June 4, Clovis, CA

Organized by several Central Valley (California) organizations including Fresno Club 435, Clovis Lions Club, ATHS-Tulare Chapter and A & L Truck Supply, this second annual event is a non-profit truck show that raises funds for many charities in California’s Central Valley.  This fun family event, held at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds, will feature raffles, live music, a truck beauty competition, tow truck demonstrations, a kid’s area and more!  For more details, call Liliana at (559) 684-1806 or visit www.cvcts.com.

THE GREAT WEST TRUCK SHOW*
June 9-11, Las Vegas, NV

UNITED HAULING TRUCK SHOW & SHINE*
June 10-11, Caldwell, ID

EAST COAST LARGE CARS TRUCK SHOW
June 11, Augusta, NJ

TITLETOWN TRUCKER’S SHOWDOWN
July 8-9, Green Bay, WI

This show always brings out a great bunch of trucks.  Held at Leicht Memorial Park in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin, this event features an awesome light parade and competition, live music, kids entertainment, seminars and a jake brake contest.  Admission is free, so come on out for some fun.  For more details call (920) 435-1882 or visit www.titletowntruckersshowdown.org.

WALCOTT TRUCKERS JAMBOREE
July 14-15, Walcott, IA

The Walcott Truckers Jamboree is hosted every year at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop (I-80 exit 284) in Walcott, Iowa.  Since 1979, the “Jamboree” has been celebrating America’s truckers and saying “thank you” to the millions of truck drivers out there.  In addition to the Iowa pork chop cookout, carnival games, live country music, trucker olympics and pet contest, there will be exhibits, an antique truck display and a Super Truck Beauty Contest.  Parking and admission are free.  For more information or to register your truck in the show, call (563) 284-6961 or visit www.iowa80truckstop.com.

THE WORLD OF LARGE CARS
July 15-16, Carlinville, IL

This show, which is personally hosted and produced by Mickey Gwillim, is a casual wash and park event with no judging or trophies - just a get together of friends and family to have a great time.  There will be a convoy and then the trucks will be parked on the grass.  For more information, call Mickey at (217) 415-3904 or visit his website at www.gwillimtruckinginc.com.

CARLISLE ALL-TRUCK NATIONALS
August 5-7, Carlisle, PA

This event, held annually at Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, PA is one of the largest all-truck events in the country.  Featuring all types of trucks including big rigs, mini trucks, classics and lifted 4X4s, this show is known to have up to 2,000 trucks in attendance.  With many contests, special events and a huge swap meet, there is something for everyone.  For more details call (717) 243-7855 or visit www.carsatcarlisle.com.

CUMMINS ROCKY MOUNTAIN TRUCKFEST*
August 7, Morrison, CO

This one-day show and drag race will feature both working and show trucks from the Rocky Mountain area and beyond. Held at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado (just west of Denver), this fun event features big rigs and pickup trucks.  Last year, there was almost 300 total trucks, as well as several local vendors on display. GREAT SALT LAKE TRUCK SHOW*
August 12-13, Lehi, UT

WAUPUN TRUCK-N-SHOW
August 12-13, Waupun, WI

This 22nd annual event, held at the Waupun Community Center, features a truck beauty competition, a light parade through the center of town, live music, vendor booths, great food and lots of family fun.  On average, there are over 400 trucks at this show each year, which raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Admission and parking are free.  Call (920) 324-9985 or visit them at www.waupuntrucknshow.com.

GREAT AMERICAN TRUCKING SHOW*
August 25-27, Dallas, TX

Held at the Dallas Convention Center, this annual show is now considered to be the second largest trucking convention in the industry.  Featuring plenty of on-site truck parking, trucking seminars, workshops, free concerts, custom show trucks, and over 400 industry-leading exhibitors filling 500,000 square feet of exhibit space, GATS should be added to your schedule if it isn’t already on it.  For more info call (888) 349-4287 or visit www.truckshow.com.

ATHS/BROOKS TRUCK SHOW*
August 27, Brooks, OR

Come join the Oregon Trail Chapter of the ATHS at the Pacific NW Truck Museum on the grounds of Antique Powerland in Brooks, Oregon for the annual Brooks Truck Show.  This laid-back event features both antique and modern working trucks.  Enjoy the traditional Saturday night barbecue dinner, raffles, swap meet, and many other fun activities all day.  With an average of over 200 trucks every year, this one-day show is fun for the entire family.  For more information, please call (503) 312-0039 or visit

THE BIG IRON CLASSIC
September 9-10, Kasson, MN

Since 1999, The Big Iron Classic has attracted thousands of people every year to the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Kasson, MN to not only enjoy some of the best looking trucks in the country, but also to raise money for local area charities.  The 2010 event featured about 500 trucks, a tractor pull, a light show, live music and a parade.  For more information call Jim at (507) 208-0222 or visit www.bigironclassic.com.

U.S. DIESEL TRUCKIN’ NATIONALS
September 17, Englishtown, NJ

Held at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, this annual show draws in 1,000 to 1,500 trucks every year.  Presented by our friends at Elizabeth Truck Center, this 35th annual event features drag racing, vendors, food, music, a truck beauty contest, a motorsports spectacular and more.  For more info call (732) 446-7800 or visit www.racewaypark.com.

TRUCKIN’ FOR KIDS SHOW & DRAGS*
September 24-25, Irwindale, CA

This wild and exciting event is not only a fun time but also a fund raiser for various children’s charities.  Over the last 30 years, this event has raised over $575,000 for children in need.  Held at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, CA, this show draws in hundreds of trucks and features fun big rig drag racing, as well as a host of other fun activities.  We at 10-4 have participated in this event for over 16 years and always have a good time.  For more details or updated information, call Race Director Frank Pangburn at (208) 448-2811 or visit www.truckinforkids.org.

GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION TRUCK SHOW*
September 30-October 1, Joplin, MO

THE GOLDEN STATE TRUCKING EXPO*
October 15-16, Pomona, CA
